For Immediate Release Contact: Nora Roughen (937) 642-1876 x 36 June 28, 2005 Marysville Public Library Board Appoints New Director Marysville, OH 43040 The Marysville Public Library Board announces the appointment of Mr. Ryan P. McDonnell, B.A., Ohio State University, Master of Library and Information Sciences, Kent State University as Library Director, effective immediately. A native of Northern Ohio, Mr. McDonnell has lived in the Columbus/Grandview area for twelve years. He has worked in Ohio libraries for nearly ten years, most recently as Assistant Director to Ms. Susan Banks, former Director of the Marysville Public Library. Mr. McDonnell is a member of the Ohio Library Council and of the Board of Directors of the Central Library Consortium. As Director, Mr. McDonnell will coordinate daily operations of the libraries, financial management, strategic planning, building facilities, purchasing, collection development, expanding information technologies and community relations. Mr. McDonnell brings a strong customer service and information focus to the Marysville Public Library and encourages an open dialogue from community members. He looks forward to the challenges and demands of his new position and to an ever-expanding patron base for the Main Library and Raymond Branch.
