Reducing the Risk of Suddent Infant Death Syndrome
(SIDS)
What can you do? Nearly 20% of babies that die from SIDS die in a family or center
based child care program. One third of these deaths occur in the first week of child care and half of those occur
on the first day!
During this 2 hour training you will learn how to define SIDS and its risk factors, how to write a safe sleep policy,
and where to find educational materials related to SIDS and Back To Sleep. You will also learn strategies to help
you speak with families about this sensitive topic. Discover how you can take a few simple steps to save the lives
of babies.
