| Our History Since 1958, the United Way of Union County has helped improve the lives of our neighbors in need. Our work extends far beyond the needs of this year or even this generation. We are committed to improving our community for years to come through our Endowment and Planned Giving Program. Endowment and Planned Gifts An endowment is an investment fund that keeps the full amount of your gift intact and distributes only the interest and capital gains that your money ears. So your gift keeps on giving -- forever. A planned gift can be a bequest or a special tax-saving gift that benefits you and United Way, today or in the future. What better way is there to ensure that your compassion will make a difference today and for future generations? The Lasting Legacy Society has been established to recognize the generosity of individuals who provide for our community’s future by making a planned gift or a special gift to the endowment fund.
